MOD_REWRITE issue with Godaddy and Solution

Fantacy Multi Vendor Shopping Script – Post Installation with Godaddy.

We found most of our customers prefer Godaddy for hosting. Even though Godaddy is the good choice, you can find around the internet that people are struggling a bit with the server configurations, installation and enable some server modules etc.

Top concern for any eCommerce script portal should be independent control over the server so that we can enable the modules we want and handle the securely. But in certain case customer prefers the shared hosting which has a limited control over the server modules.

So here is some instruction to succeed the easy installation of Fantacy with Godaddy.

STEP 1: Making the .htaccess file changes

The default .htaccess comes with Fantacy package will not have the additional parameters as in general they are not required.

STEP 2: Check the file format & check the file permission

Once the above content changes are done, save the file into “ANSI” format and upload your .htaccess file into respective folders.

After finishing the upload please make sure the file permission of all the .htaccess is set to “644” which readable by server.

That’s all. It should work now.
